The Valley Course first used in 1988, was developed around the natural contours of the Dewstow Farm meadowlands. Golfers can expect a variety of interesting holes including the par 3, 7th hole, which is approached over water, some 50 feet lower than the tee! Each of the 18 holes has its own name, which in turn reflects the history of the land as it was used in past years for productive farming. Although we have emphasized the easy nature of the course it will still test the skills of the lower handicapped golfer.

The Glamorganshire Golf Club, situated in the seaside town of Penarth on the outskirts of Cardiff is the second oldest golf club in South Wales. Although being near the sea, the Glamorganshire is not a links, but an 18-hole parkland course on undulating ground on the edge of what are now Cosmeston Lakes. The Club is steeped in tradition, it was at the Glamorganshire that the Stableford scoring system was one of the first tried by its creator, Dr. Frank Stableford in September 1898, and when the Barbarian Rugby Football Club made Penarth their home in 1901 for their traditional Easter tour to Wales, the Glamorganshire was adopted as the place to spend the free Sunday. A test of Golf.

One of the classic Welsh links courses. Bernard Gallagher, Europe's former Ryder Cup captain, won his first tournament here in 1969, and it was here that Sam Torrance also gained his first title, the 1976 Martini. This is a great test of traditional links golf. The wind will be of help on one of the 9 but a severe test on the second. To quote the worn phrase, "when the wind blows the seagulls walk"

If it didnt have a royal neighbour, PandK would enjoy a far wider reputation. It has many fine qualities that distinguish it from Royal Porthcawl, as competitors in the 2002 Amateur Championship discovered when both courses hosted the qualifying rounds of the tournament. PandK possesses much higher dunes and deeper, disconcerting valleys in a layout that offers plenty of diversity. The course is laid out in two loops of nine holes and although each half tests the golfer, the second nine poses more difficulties.

They call Pennard the links of the sky because although it has all the trappings of a seaside links course it is perched high on a cliff-top west of Swansea. This brings a double benefit to the lovers of links golf the sand-based fairways offer the usual pleasures and its lofty position provides outstanding views. Pennard was designed by the great James Braid whose skill is behind many of Wales' best layouts and has been developed to meet modern needs with extended tees and improved fairways and greens
